HYDE + SEEK

Set in and around the Azazel Housing Estate in London in the not too distant future, Hyde & Seek is a radical thriller that reimagines Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic novel Jekyll and Hyde.

Written & directed by Tristan Fynn-Aiduenu, associate direction (R&D) & production dramaturgy by malakaï sargeant.

Commissioned by Guildhall School of Music & Drama, presented at Milton Court Theatre, 2022.

A participatory experience developed at Theatre Peckham communally exploring queer platonic intimacy through performance art, poetry, communal discussion and audio art. Postponed due to Covid-19.

BABY BULLET TEETH (R+D)

A poetic and spiritual exploration of a mother’s life thrown into turmoil, examining familial dynamics through the lens of Black women and girls with two actors – a nod to the function of intergenerational curses and blessings between Black femmes.

BABYDYKE

Fleeting between tender and gut-wrenching, this play is an exploration of what is, and who gets to be perceived as, “normal” in the eyes of the State, its agents, and among/between loved ones – throwing the functions and dynamics of love into question throughout. Rehearsed reading of a debut play by film director/writer, now in development for BBC Radio.

SCRATCH THAT

Scratch That was an artist development programme for emerging playwrights from underrepresented backgrounds. The programme paired writers with a director-dramaturg to develop an existing idea and transfer it from the page to the stage, performed by actors local to the venue in rehearsed readings.
